Vegan note #20 - don’t try this at home
Had my baby bird (he’s a few months old, full grown size-wise, still my baby though), Alex, out to take photos of him because sadly I need to rehome him. Since he’s male and basically full grown, the dad, who lives in the same cage attacks him sometimes.
Anyways, had Alex out of the cage, and Nicki (my cat) comes over and just rubs her face on the bird, sniffs, licks, rubs her face all over the bird again, the bird showing no signs of being nervous. I wish I got a photo, I was too busy thinking WTF IS EVERYONE VEGAN IN THIS HOUSEHOLD NOW??

I’ve always loved cassowaries. I mean, seriously, birds with horns? It doesn’t get cooler than that!
My baby bird is a few weeks old now, and can do a little flying, short distances only. I’m yet to give it a name. <3
Clearly the world was made for birds. No other animal can fly, and swim, and walk as it pleases. Birds are the only land animal that has a coat that comes in every color, and no other animal on land can see in every color, their colors are all-inclusive and only for the birds eyes to enjoy, no other animal can properly see them. Visually they are matched only by the flowers that are sweet, and made for them to eat sugar from. All the while they sing beautiful notes while well out of reach.
